Old Mill Ministries' focus is to be a light by serving and ministering to both the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Eastern Tennessee and the Appalachian Mountains.

 Music Park Today

The Old Mill Music Park consists of 14.9 acres of prestine beauty. Old Mill Ministries plans include the purchase of this property by the end of our first fiscal year.

Old Bloomery Mill is an ancient process of forging iron ore into wrought iron. It is not a traditional mill with water wheel. It has an underwater turbine that blows air into the furnace. It was very innovative for its time. The mill is in restorable shape. We have one of the largest collections of tipper hammers and anvils of its type in the country. It currently serves as a concession stand during events at the park.

Pea-Vine Train Depot is now converted into an outdoor stage, lighting and state of the art sound system.

Laurel Creek and Gentry Creek both run through the property. They provide some of the best trout fishing anyone could ever ask for. It is stocked several times each year by the Tennessee Department of Natural Resources.

Music Hall, attached to the back side of the Depot to provide a place during inclement weather.

10 RV Camp sites with electric hook ups

Open field for tent camping accommodates several tenters.

Area Activities

Mountain Biking:

Virginia Creeper trail is one of the best family oriented rails to trails projects in the Eastern United States. The State of Tennessee has approved the Creeper extension, whereby using the old Pea-Vine Railroad bed and run from the TN/NC state line in Trade, TN to Damascus, VA. Why is that important to us? This will literally run through our Campus and the phase II of repair/construction will come to the Music Park.

Hiking:

The Appalachian Trail, Iron Mountain Trail is within a 5 minute drive.  Gentry Falls, a 5 mile round trip hike, is minutes from Campus.  Easy climb to lovely falls.  A perfect hike for school-aged children to adults.

Horseback Riding:

Mount Rogers National Recreational Area offers what is claimed to be the Montana sky of the East. It offers big sky's, beautiful scenery and spectacular views.

Whitewater rafting:

Raft the Watauga River. It is great for beginners, family's and church groups, and all levels of experience.

Tubing/canoeing:

Go tubing or canoeing down the New River.

Trout Fishing:

Bring your pole and fish right here or we can set you up with a guide, a float trip, whatever you like; or we can get a boat to rent for the day at Lake Watauga. This lake is the third cleanest lake in the country.

Winter Snow Skiing within a 30 minute drive:

Want to go snow skiing? Well, all the major ski slops in NC are within a 30 to 45 minute drive.

Bird Watching:

We have some of the most endangered species of birds in the country, right here in our back yard. People come from all over the country to see what Eastern Tennessee has.
