The Old Mill Music Park in Laurel Bloomery, TN came alive on Friday July 23rd as final preparations for the 3rd Annual Back To School Bash were made. Friends and supporters arrived at 1PM on Friday to enjoy a fellowship lunch prior to getting started on the numerous jobs needed to make the event successful. From getting picnic tables placed, bouncy houses uncoiled, food and other concessions placed to over 300 bags of school supplies packed and organized.
New this year was a youth celebration held from 7-10pm on Friday night. Free food consisting of pizza, chips and salsa, cookies and drinks, live music, testimonies and giveaways made the night a success. Local talent made up of Brad Harris, Logan Vincent and Dalton Slemp performed several contemporary praise songs. Following them were two teens who gave wonderful testimonies. Later in the evening, signed Facedown Records artist, Onward To Olympas played several selections from their newest CD Sink or Swim. Afterward, members signed autographs and enjoyed photo ops with students present. The Friday night celebration was a huge hit, and plans are in place to incorporate it every year!

On Saturday, hundreds of families arrived beginning at 11AM for lots of fun on bouncy houses, horseback rides, face painting, caricatures, water and bubble fun, basketball and volleyball and free hotdogs, drinks, sno-cones and popcorn. Live music by Three16 added to the festivities. At 1pm, OMM director, Andy Zeggert called everyone together to hear a wonderful message by David Locke and a skit by Freedom Christian Center Youth from Mooresville, NC. Following the program, children were called forward by grade and prayed over. Each child then received a free bag of school supplies. Despite the 10"+ inches of snow, A Christmas Celebration was held on Monday Dec. 21st from 3PM to 7PM at Johnson County High School. Although plans had to be revised, nearly 300 people enjoyed dessert, going through clothing and receiving a toy for each child. The weather may have impacted the event, but Old Mill Ministries still impacted families in the Mountain City area.
We appreciate all the work that occured, both before the event, during and afterwards to make this a success. We'll have more pictures later, but here are just a few of the happy faces that were able to receive a blessing.

Dozens of people from the Mountain City area and from Mooresville, NC enjoyed a wonderful gathering Saturday Oct. 17th at the Old Mill Music Park in support of Old Mill Ministries and co-sponsored by His Hands Reaching Ministry. The event began early for folks in Mooresville, NC, as they gathered for breakfast locally. Many rode motorcycles or rode in cars to enjoy the leaves on the drive up the mountain. After arriving, everyone enjoyed a meal of pork sandwiches, baked beans, slaw, chips and dessert. During the meal, members of the Johnson County High School Drama department entertained those present with their rendition of the Porter Wagner Show. The drama class is lead by OMM director, Lisa Zeggert. Following the show, door prizes donated by Pat Kersey and David Burnette were presented to those present and with the winning ticket.
Despite brisk temperatures, everyone had a good time in fellowship with each other. The money raised from this event will go to help with expenses at the upcoming Christmas Celebration on Dec. 19th.

What a wonderful day we had at our 2nd annual Back to School Bash held at the Old Mill Music Park. We estimated nearly 700 people attended. There were many fun activities for everyone: free hotdog lunch, games, bouncy houses, horse rides, sno-cones and popcorn. We enjoyed hearing how good God is from Pastor Eddie Karriker of Freedom Christian Center. There were testimonies from several individuals and entertainment from local musicians. Families had an opportunity to go through many articles of clothing from our clothing closet. We gave out 300 bags of free school supplies for every child in attendance, along with 70 totebags filled with goodies. Every family present received a wonderful teaching book donated by Andrew Wommack Ministries.
The day could not have been made possible without the donations by area businesses and individuals, friends and family members, nor the support of our home church, Freedom Christian Center in Mooresville. We'll post more about the event soon, but enjoy pictures from the event here !

The weather was great on Saturday, May 23rd, for the Yard Sale Fundraiser Old Mill Ministries had at the Old Mill Music Park on Hwy 91 in Laurel Bloomery. First customers arrived at 7AM and it was a steady stream until about 3PM. Because We had been so blessed with clothing donations over the past year, and we had worked to make sure the families we support had received things they needed, we took the opportunity to place those donations in the yard sale at a very reasonable .25 per item. This blessed the people in the community, and gave us an opportunity to get the items into peoples hands so they could be used. We calculated that over 700 items were sold!
We want to thank everyone that came and supported the sale, and especially want to thank our special neighbors, Jackie, Amanda and Alaina for the help they provided, as well as the calls they made to send customers our way. It was a lot of fun and work. We plan to do it again in the future!

Members of Davidson College Staff Assistants met recently for their monthly luncheon, and blessed Old Mill Ministries with dozens of new socks! They were received by Jill Lowe, Davidson College employee and Board Member of Old Mill Ministries. This is not the first time that Davidson College Staff Assistants supported OMM. In December, dozens of toys and money was given to help support A Christmas Celebration. "We are so appreciative of their generosity", states Director Andy Zeggert, who plans to give out the socks to families in the area.

On Saturday Dec. 20th, hundreds of people were invited to A Christmas Celebration as a outreach the families of the Johnson County area during the Christmas Season. Volunteers from Freedom Christian Center, Old Mill Ministries volunteers and family, joined with those in attendance to celebrate Christmas with a special dinner, clothing giveaway and new toys. As people arrived at the Johnson County High School Cafeteria to take part in this special outreach, they were greeted by volunteers and enjoyed cookies and Christmas music. Following the welcome by OMM director, Andy Zeggert, folks were served a meal of turkey, dressing and all the fixings. Immediately following the meal, a special musical presentation was made by choir members of the Johnson County High School Chorus, under the direction of Old Mill Ministries director, Lisa Zeggert. there was a special message, which including a reading of the Christmas Story by Andy Zeggert. Also, O' Holy Night was sung by Board Member, Catherine Pichura. This was also a special time of worship, as Pastors (removed section) took the opportunity to pray with families (removed words). Several individuals received salvation, healing and encouragement. One young man, with tears streaming down his face, spoke to Pastor Gary Kolstad and said, "Thank you for helping my daddy receive Christ". What a joyous expression of the love Christ brings.
Afterwards, everyone had a chance to go through the gymnasium, which was filled with hundreds of clothes, shoes, coats, hats, gloves, shoes, new socks and household items. Every child received new toys and Christmas was made a little brighter for folks this day.
Old Mill Ministries would like to thank everyone that made this day possible.
